How do I establish a bluetooth connection between my iPhone and the HERO device?

Hero should be connected through the app, not the system (iOS) Bluetooth settings.
  1. Insert a battery in HERO rotor and turn it on by pressing the small button located on the left side of the rotor. Led light should turn green.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone and open the InsideMaps App
  3. Start a new project by pressing the "Create +" in the upper right corner
  4. Type in your project name, select your organization and type in the Project address (or use current location if you are already at the site)
  5. Select 'iPhone using HERO' from the drop down menu (this should be the default option)
  6. Select your project package type
  7. Select appropriate room type
  8. Pick a corresponding floor,  add a Door/Ceiling Height if measures are available, then click 'NEXT'
  9. At this point, you will be navigated to Connect to Rotor screen. To initiate connection, press again button on HERO (only one brief and short click)
  10. Once you press the button, app will push you to the Capture screen, indicating the connection was successful (follow the on screen instructions and clear the camera lens to avoid blurry pictures)
  11. Please note that if the HERO and the iPhone are facing straight down, the HERO will not start correctly. You will need to gently move the head so it faces straight forward.

If you have difficulty establishing a Bluetooth connection, the following steps may solve any issues:
  1. Navigate to iPhone SettingsInsideMaps Capture - toggle on Bluetooth access
  2. Close the InsideMaps Capture app, and repeat above steps
  3. Power off the HERO device by removing the battery.
  4. Re-insert the HERO battery, and restart the app.
